“Abundance” Brooch

This intricate gold brooch design with Deep red garnet cut by the late Erwin Springbrunn, is partly inspired by Anglo Saxon jewellery, however the inspirations don’t stop there. “While making this piece I found myself seeing Mayan design as well as Anglo Saxon, which got me thinking about how so many ancient cultures tell similar stories through their art work, a tradition that I enjoy being part of”

“Autumn Leaf” Brooch

Autumn Leaf Brooch. Using the ancient technique of Keum boo to bond 23ct gold foil to sterling silver Tiffany has created this strong yet elegant design. Keum boo is a Korean gilding technique that uses heat with an agate burnisher to adhere gold foil to silver. Tiffany has used it here to give a vibrant deep gold lustre in contrast to the the dark oxidized silver. Autumn leaf is a double layer construction that gives even more depth to this piece. Using the double pin method of construction, this piece holds its self well on many different styles to Finish off any look. This brooch measures 31mm across and 9mm from front to back. weight 15 g.
